The Balblair Area

Balblair sits in Easter Ross on the southern shore of the Cromarty Firth, in the Scottish Highlands. It is one of those places that still feels genuinely off the main tourist trail, despite being just 20 minutes from Inverness and right on the North Coast 500.

The Cromarty Firth is one of the best places in Scotland to see bottlenose dolphins, and the views across the water to the Black Isle on a clear day are hard to beat. Balblair Distillery, founded in 1790, is one of Scotland's oldest working distilleries and sits right in the village.

The area is perfect for walking, wildlife watching, dolphin spotting, distillery tours, and exploring the wider Highlands at your own pace. Tain, Dingwall, and the Cromarty peninsula are all within easy reach. Inverness offers excellent restaurants, a castle, and easy access to Loch Ness just to the south.
